![]() Even reflector assemblies that offered a HID version don't respond that well. In general, unless you're willing to spend big dollars on a true retrofit that uses some type of OEM assembly, HID and/or LED conversions are a terrible idea, especially for a reflector housing. I think there are housing replacement type upgrades that give you that function. HIDs is less, LEDs are bright and annoying and have a tendency to glare (they are made up of several LEDs). There are a couple post on the theory here, but don't recall the details off hand. The initial leveling motor and shutter process takes another second or two. The OEM arc stabilizes within a second or two (quality bulb). I know a lot of questions but trying to consolidate all my questions in order to make an informed decision. ![]() My interest is a better and safer night driving experience while not blinding on coming traffic and getting flashed, esthetics are of not much concern. How long are we talking on average? Putting aside the short life of an upgraded halogen, do they in fact throw light further and a bit whiter?
